Fine and warm at the coast, with the option of encountering some snow on the peak of Mount Teide, it offers the best of all worlds.

Climate in Tenerife in November

Average rainfall for Tenerife in November is 114mm, but one must bear in mind that the windward side of the island (the north-east) receives 73% of this, so down south in the major beach resorts like Playa de las Americas and Los Christianos it stays sunny and clear most of the month. With low humidity and temperatures of around 25°C, the resorts can offer a mid-winter sun tan without too much discomfort from undue heat. There is little difference between night and day temperatures … at night you can still sit outside and enjoy an ambience of around 18°C.

What’s on in Tenerife in November

Although the resort hotels are still pumping, in general November on the island of Tenerife is a quiet month when it comes to the famed fiestas. It kicks off, however, with the celebration of All Saints Day, important in this Catholic country, and ends on 29th November with St Andrew’s Day, which brings a unique Canary island event involving sledding down steep streets on boards. In the capital children are encouraged to bang tin cans and make plenty of noise, finishing off by consuming roasted chestnuts.

What to pack for a holiday in Tenerife in November

If you have come to Tenerife in November for the beach, that’s what you’ll get … pack your swimsuit, sun-hat, shades and flip-flops. When away from the beach or pool shorts and t-shirts will be sufficient, but in the evening you will need a jumper and long trousers or tights under your party top. In the wetter north take along a raincoat, and for a trip up the mountains ski pants, jacket and warm boots are a necessity.
